In the 32-bit version of NOTION, this nearly always is a matter of system memory resources for an application being limited to 4GB for its application workspace, but it also happens in the 64-bit versions of NOTION 4 and NOTION 5. Īs I learned a while later, the problem with NOTION projects becoming "corrupted" nearly always is the consequence of having more instruments-typically VSTi virtual instruments-in the score than NOTION can handle. (1) Do not allow NOTION to do an automagical project "recovery" on the Mac. Instead, just kept trying to open the NOTION project, typically after exiting and restarting NOTION, and after about 10 or 20 times, it would reopen successfully, hence the first rule regarding what to do when NOTION becomes confused on the Mac: The first few times I answered that I wanted to "recover" the project the results were not good, so I stopped replying to the message in the affirmative. When I first started using NOTION in 2010 (NOTION 3) on the Mac, there were a few times when NOTION crashed and upon restarting asked if I wanted to "recover" the project. ![]() There probably is a folder or someplace on the that NOTION uses for at least one "recovery" file, but I have not been able to find it. This must be a Windows phenomenon, because after a good bit of scouting around on the Mac Pro here in the sound isolation studio, I did not find a "DocDelta" folder or anything else that appears relevant.
